Her City
A Guide for Cities to Sustainable and Inclusive Urban Planning and Design together with Girls
This guide provides urban leaders a methodology to mainstream gender equity in urban planning and design.
Urbanization brings with it the challenge of inequality, and women and girls tend to benefit less from urban spaces than men, facing a range of barriers and vulnerabilities. Her City supports cities to scale up and mainstream girls’ participation in urban planning as a part of their long-term strategy to build sustainable cities and societies. This resource provides urban actors a toolbox and methodology for incorporating youth, gender, and socioeconomic perspectives by strategically involving girls and young women in urban planning and design. Her City was produced by UN-Habitat.
