The second National-Local Dialogue took place in Argentina alongside the sixth Steering Committee meeting, bringing together around thirty national and local stakeholders.
The progress and current status of the project "Low-Carbon Integrated Investments and Conservation in Argentine Cities – GEF 7" were presented and discussed.
This is the largest project of its kind in the country and has improved the efficiency of implementing positive impacts in cities.
During the meeting, the project’s technical and financial progress was presented, along with the support provided to municipalities. Key operational challenges were also analyzed, as well as the work plan through 2028.
The project in Argentina is coordinated between the national government and UNEP, and it is designed to support the municipalities of Ushuaia, Salta, Mendoza, General Pueyrredón, and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in their urban development efforts in the context of climate mitigation.
